So a couple posts back I wrote about my new determination to go to school and get my LPN. I would be done next may with everything! It was going to be great!! I would finally have some sort of a degree, where if need be I could work and make enough to support our family. Our thoughts were, for me to finish school, go back to work and send Andy to school to get a degree, in something.
HOWEVER, I have changed my mind, a little, I have to rewind a little to make sense. My little sister is in the LPN program here at EITC and loves it! She told me about a part-time program that they have, you only have to go to school two days a week...
WOW! Not bad, 4 semesters 1 1/2 years and I would not only have time to spend with Kyler but I'd also have my degree. Sounded
PERFECT for my situation. I went and talked to a counselor and found out that to get into the program I would only need 3 classes that were pretty easy. I signed up, paid my dues, filed out my FAFSA forms and in 1 week I was all signed up! It seemed like things were going very smoothly and I had this
HUGE weight lifed off my shoulders. I'd been promising my dad that I would get my education & now I finally was fulfilling that promise! Well the same day that Andy had his Appendectomy I found out that
I am pregnant. I was actually about 6 weeks along.
HOLY COW! Now what am I going to do. How can I do it now?? I was so excited that I was pregnant, but now so confused at
WHY everything worked out so perfectly & seemed so right. Well at my first doctor's appointment we found out that I am due on our anniversary,
August 19, 2009, which is 9 days
after school starts. Then we found out that they are discontinuing the part time program for 2009.
CRAP! My plan was failing!! Not only would I have a brand new baby, but I would be in school every day, basically, from 8-5. How in the world could I sacrifice that time with my new baby for school? I know it can be done, and people do it all the time, but that time is very precious to me, not only that but breastfeeding would be definatly out of the question. So the decision has been made that I am going to wait a year to get into the LPN program. Which seems a lot better, with the situation. By that time the baby will be about 9 months old, hopefully when that time comes I won't have second thoughts. I have been so excited about finally getting done, but now we are on hold for a little longer. It has been 3 years since I was in school, so one more year won't kill me. Anyway, so
we are very excited that we are going to be adding to our family, again. It seems like
EVERYONE is pregnant, which is exciting!! Some people may not agree with me, but I think that it is very exciting. I am now 12 weeks, we got to listen to the heart beat on Monday, which i think is absolutely
amazing. I have been SO sick, basically all day, it has made going to class a little more difficult than I thought, and having "pregnancy brain" isn't helping. But overall, it has been kindof fun being back in school!! So there is another somewhat boring update. lol!
